Did You Know?

You can help reduce the Sea Nettles in Barnegat Bay. Polyps (baby jellyfish) attach to smooth, hard surfaces. Recent Scientific Studies show the bottom of floating docks & man-made bulkheads could provide a perfect habitat for Hundreds of thousands of jellyfish.

Lagoon Residents can help Reduce the Sea Nettle Population By:

  • Removing floatables such as PVC barrels & plastics from the waterways

  • Removing floating docks, when possible

  • Power washing the underside of docks, piers & bulkheads in early Fall & early Spring
